• From Kokusai-dori: about 4 km, 15-25 minutes by taxi. Parking fills up; the park itself recommends public transit

Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium

The aquarium known for its large Kuroshio Sea tank, inside Ocean Expo Park in Motobu — about a 2-hour drive from Naha Airport.

Cape Manzamo

A 20-meter cliff of Ryukyu limestone with a grass park across its top. Entry is ¥100 per person.

• Okinawa Bus / Ryukyu Bus routes 20 or 120 to Onna-son Yakuba-mae

Kokusai-dori

Naha's main street: about 1.6 km from the Kencho-kitaguchi crossing to the Asato junction, nicknamed the Miracle Mile for its postwar rebound.

• Yui Rail to Kencho-mae Station (the street's south entrance) or Makishi Station (its north entrance)
• About 15 minutes by car from Naha Airport

Cape Zanpa

Cliffs around 30 meters high run for about 2 km along this Yomitan cape, known as the last place on the main island to see the sun set.

The cape itself is free to visit. Zanpa Lighthouse: 9:30-12:00 and 13:00-16:30 or 17:30 by season, ¥300 (junior-high age and up)

• An airport limousine bus also links Naha Airport with hotels in Yomitan Village

Bise Fukugi Tree-Lined Avenue

Fukugi trees, planted as windbreaks around village houses, form a lane of about 1 km out to Cape Bise in Motobu.

Getting there

• In the same town as Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, which describes itself on its own site as being near Cape Bise on the Motobu Peninsula
• No rail out here, so plan on driving
